Purchased a Graphtec CE5000-60 (24 inch. wide) Vinyl Cutter. Finally got my cutter mid January but I was working on a database project at that time so it had to sit. Got it unpacked at the end of January but had a few issues with the software plugin for Corel Draw. Emailed tech support for two different issues and got responses on both in less than a day. The plugin and cutter are working great. I decided to dive right it for my first project to see how intricate it could cut.

My First Vinyl Cutter Project

I chose the most intricate design I had in my clipart collection (I’m not that good of an artist) and away it went. It is a little bit smaller than letter size and it took me forever to weed it out. It is white vinyl with a blue liner with the application tape layed over the design (the yellowish texture). I have yet to decide where to apply it however. I tried cutting this design again and weeding a reverse copy but I am having a really tough time weeding that one out.

But it looks cool.

Men’s Open Doubles Match featuring Mike Orr/Chris Crowther vs. Greg Solis/Craig Lane.
I believe it was the CA Regional Qualifier of April ’08.
Only about 23 minutes of their match as my battery went dead. Shot with a Canon GL1. Play it full screen – I think you’ll enjoy it.

F.Y.I.
Testing some new video compression software. Specs: 720×540, 29.97 frames per second, 23 min and 24 seconds. Approx. 180MB file size. Would have compressed the audio to make a much smaller size but some players did not play the audio correctly.

If you’re looking for my photos I have moved them to www.scottgallegosphotography.com. I have decided to renew my photo site for another year since I am about to do some paying shoots. Scottgallegos.com will become my web programming test bed and my host for my other interests.
